OEM Filament Customization: Process and Details

A private-label filament order starts with the details that buyers will see on every spool and box. WJ confirms the customization brief with the customer, prepares physical samples for a second review, and starts mass production only after approval. Here is what to settle at each stage.

Quick answer for buyers

WJ’s OEM filament customization process covers materials, quantities, colors, packaging, spools and labels, followed by physical-sample approval before mass production. WJ reports 70+ production lines, a 10,000+ m² factory and 24-hour shift operation. Its reference for a 40HQ order is approximately 20,000 spools with 25–35 days from production to delivery. Buyers should confirm the order configuration, approval schedule, FOB, EXW or DDP arrangement and delivery location with WJ.

1. Confirm materials, quantities and colors

Before production, WJ reviews the material selection and quantity for each material and color. Tell the team whether you need standard colors or a special color developed for your brand.

A total order quantity alone leaves the production brief incomplete. A material-by-color breakdown gives both sides a clear list to check, and a physical color sample provides a shared reference for approval.

2. Specify the box, spool and label details

WJ offers customization of mailer-style boxes or tuck-bottom boxes. Confirm the artwork and the shape, size and position of any window used to display the filament color.

The outer-carton plan is also agreed in advance: the default is 10 spools per carton, while 20 spools per carton or another agreed arrangement can be customized. Choose cardboard or plastic spools, then decide whether your brand logo and other content will be printed, whether stickers are needed and how the label artwork should be arranged.

3. Review physical samples before mass production

Once the general customization direction is agreed, WJ prepares tooling and physical mockups or samples for customer review, as required by the design. The review covers the actual packaging, filament color and sticker content.

This is a second confirmation after the initial specification review. WJ states that mass production begins only when the customer confirms that the physical design and order details are acceptable. Keep the approved artwork, sample and specification list aligned so the production instruction is unambiguous.

4. Agree the production schedule and order scale

According to WJ, the factory has 70+ production lines and a production area of 10,000+ m². Workers operate in shifts to support 24-hour continuous production, with a focus on stable output and quality.

For a 40HQ order, WJ gives a reference of approximately 20,000 spools and 25–35 days from production to delivery. Confirm the actual load plan, spool and packaging configuration, sample approvals and agreed delivery milestone for your order rather than treating this reference as a fixed schedule for every shipment.

5. Confirm delivery terms and the handover location

Before production, WJ also confirms whether the order will use FOB, EXW or DDP and where the finished goods must be delivered or handed over. Put the selected arrangement and exact location into the agreed order details.

After order confirmation, WJ checks the product and delivery details with the customer again. The aim is to maintain consistent supply and quality by carrying the same approved requirements from the first brief through sampling, production and delivery.
